WHAT WE DO

OUR MISSION

With a holistic approach to transforming lives, Mercy Street is committed to serving those directly affected by incarceration.

OUR VISION

We are a community of people called out by God and saved by grace. We are committed to seeing men, women, youth and families that have been directly affected by incarceration healed, restored and released to live the lives they were made to live.

Motivated by the love of Jesus Christ, we believe that with this love we can do more than impact a community - we can see true transformation in the lives of those who have been incarcerated, as well as their families and their communities.

MINISTRY INSIDE THE JAIL

In the Spring of 2014, our founder Sheila Donegan began ministry in Suffolk County jails in Boston, through Boston Dream Center. For the next 6 years, Sheila along with a team of faithful men and women served weekly inside the jail.  In 2020 the leadership of our Boston team was transitioned to the men who had faithfully served with us for the last 6 years and are now continuing to work in the Boston Jails.

Also in 2020 our founder, Sheila Donegan, relocated to Los Angeles and began working inside  L.A. County Jail. In the fall of 2020 we launched Mercy Street continuing the work of serving the incarcerated on the west coast.
